About Underwood Gardens
Underwood Gardens is an environmentally and socially conscious grower and business. We sell only high-quality, untreated seeds. We compost; we separate and recycle glass, cardboard, plastic, aluminum and all paper products. We print on recycled paper and re-use mailing envelopes and seed envelopes when possible. Please join us in our efforts to reduce waste, reuse and recycle.
Starting with the 2008 growing season we have decided not to print a paper catalog. The significant annual expense threatened our very existence as a small seed company. Also, we cringed at the thought of the waste we were generating: lost trees and the environmental costs of printing and delivering the catalog all over the United States.
Our website is beautiful, educational and functional, and we will update it to be as technologically advanced as our business requires. Soon you will be able to print a downloadable catalog just in case you like to do your seed shopping away from your computer. I understand! I like to take my catalogs along on my car errands so 10 minutes waiting at softball practice is time well and enjoyably spent.
